Health & Physical Education

Students in all year levels participate in Health & Physical Education for a minimum of 2 hours each week. Children engage in physical activities primarily to have fun, learn new skills and interact with others and to experience thrills and excitement in play. Using this knowledge, the PE program has been developed to emphasise health related aspects of physical activity, as opposed to any specific sport or leisure skills. Students have an opportunity to compete in interschool events in athletics, swimming, cross country, equestrian, basketball, netball and football.
All students from Foundation to Year 5 participate in weekly swimming lessons at Belfast Aquatics in Port Fairy and Year 6 students participate in a surf program during Term 4. Qualified instructors teach students and have a focus on safety, fun and self confidence in the water.
